Let’s talk about Kurti, our ‘Companion’. I know kurti is very common attire for us and we all know about kurti. We keep buying them frequently because they can be worn for any occasion. We can wear them at workplace or at dinner parties. It can give perfect ethnic look for festivals or for weddings. That is the reason I call it my companion for casual or formal suitable for all occasions and all seasons.

                Kurti is favourite item of clothing for Indian women. It has gained popularity from past few years for its comfort and versatility. It has reached to every woman’s closet, college going girls to old women and working women to housewives we all own kurtis in our wardrobes. So it can be teamed with any comfortable bottoms to create desired look for the event. We know all the features of kurti, therefore it is close to our heart.

            Here is quick review of two types of my favourite kurtis to get more options to style them.

  1. Straight long kurti- Straight long kurtis are always in trend and we always have number of straight kurtis in our closet it looks beautiful on all body types, and they are comfortable too. It can be paired with leggings for slim look. It can create cool casual look if worn with slim fit or straight jeans. Cotton straight kurti with pants create perfect office look. Yes, I know we always wear our straight long kurtis with all above bottoms but it looks stunning with palazzos and skirts too.   • Empire line kurti- Empire line kurti is similar to western gown which is narrow till bust and flared below. Mostly it is long and knee length, calf length empire line kurtis also look elegant. It attracts attention on bust area so women with heavy bust should avoid it.  These kurtis can be worn for parties, casual wear. A silk kurti with embellishments can make festive look.

Empire line kurtis look gorgeous with palazzos and plain dupattas. Simple cotton kurti can be worn with belts at the waist as a dress to create cool summer look.  Without belt also gives casual look. It also worn with contrast leggings.

Now a day empire line long floor length party wear kurtis are in fashion.
